What does it mean to be Catholic? God created us in His image and likeness. He always pursued a relationship with His creation, even after we fell away from Him because of the original sin of Adam. When God sent His Son into the world, it was not to condemn the world but to save it. This was won for us in the Cross, when Christ sacrificed Himself for our salvation. Before Christ went to the Cross He established the Church, the Body of Christ, in order to continue His work in the world. If we share in His sacrifice; we also share in His glory. We are called to share this message of reconciliation. We share in His sacrifice by offering our own sacrifices at the Altar of God. To be Catholic is to recognize this immense love of the Father through His Son in order to call us back to the Father and overcome the separation of sin. Not only to recognize it; but also to share this message of reconciliation with the world and invite others to Baptism and the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist for the salvation of souls. How do you live your Catholicism?
