Members of St. Joseph the Worker’s parish council, as well as many choir members, attended the Anniversary Mass held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Cathedral of Saint Peter in Scranton. This Mass marked the actual Anniversary Sunday of the founding of our Diocese in 1868. The Mass gave thanks to God for the many blessings He has bestowed on the Diocese – from the first Catholics to settle here, to the formal establishment of the Diocese by Pope Pius IX in 1868, and throughout its growth in the ensuing years.
